Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet
This faucet features a single lever. The handle is used to turn it on or off, as well as used to control the water’s temperature. Single-handle kitchen faucets are convenient, elegant, and a space-saver, but adjusting the lever can be hard to get the water temperature right.
Double-Handle Kitchen Faucet
As its name implies, this faucet comes with two handles: one for hot water and another for cold water. Some double-handle kitchen faucets are mounted on the sink without a platform, while others are deck mounted. The right lever is usually used to control hot water, while the left lever is used to control cold water. They can also be pricier than single-handle faucets, and it can be hard to replace certain parts once they break down.
Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet
This faucet features a spout that you can pull down for a more targeted cleaning. It features a goose-neck nozzle that is attached to a hose. Pull-down kitchen faucets are great if you want to wash a container with a greasy corner, a large pot, or the kitchen sink itself. You can even use it to bathe your puppy.
Because you can control the hose’s length while you’re washing some fruits and vegetables, splashing is kept to a minimum. It is also great for larger and deeper sinks.
Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet
Pull-out kitchen faucets look and work so much like pull-down faucets except they have shorter spouts. They also have longer hoses, which make them great for double sinks and for filling pots on or beside the sink.
If you like cooking pasta or soups, then you’ll love pot fillers. Unlike conventional faucets that are positioned on the sink, pot fillers are mounted in the wall above the stove. Check out this cool video if you want to know how to install a pot filler. Pot fillers feature a long articulating arm, as well as two shut-off levers.
The main advantage of pot fillers is that they are easy and convenient to use. You don’t have to put a large pot in the sink, wait for it to fill with water, and haul the now-heavy pot to the stovetop when you have a pot filler. All you have to do is put the pot on the stovetop, turn the faucet on, and wait for it to fill up.
Pot fillers, however, can be costly and a hassle to install. You also have to mount them carefully to prevent them from leaking and dripping water on your stovetop.
Commercial-Style Kitchen Faucet
Commercial-style kitchen faucets look a lot like those used in restaurants or hotel kitchens, except that they consume less water and a bit less powerful than their commercial cousins. They have a swing faucet with two handles, as well as a pre-rinse faucet that blasts food debris off plates, pots, or pans. Some commercial-style faucets, on the other hand, only have pre-rinse ones.
Motion-Sensing Kitchen Faucets
You don’t have to reach for the faucet’s handle when you have a motion-sensing kitchen faucet. To fill a pot with water or to wash your hands, all you have to do is swipe your hand in front of the faucet’s sensor and the faucet will immediately dispense hot or cold water.
Because you don’t have to touch the handle, this faucet helps prevent contamination which makes it especially helpful if you’re prepping meat. Not only are these faucets easy to use and convenient, but they are also easy to clean. The drawbacks? They’re pricey, and they can be hard to repair because of their complexity.
