What was once an unfinished, underutilized basement has been completely transformed into a warm, functional extension of the home. The original space was open but lacked purpose, with exposed framing, minimal lighting, and no clear layout. The homeowners wanted a space that felt intentional, comfortable, and connected to the rest of the house.

Sebring Design Build approached the project by reimagining the basement as a multi-use living area. The open footprint was maintained, but clearly defined zones were introduced to support everyday living, entertaining, and relaxation. Framing and insulation were completed to create a fully conditioned environment, while thoughtful drywall and trim work gave the space a clean, finished look.

Lighting played a major role in the transformation. New recessed can lights were installed throughout, eliminating dark corners and creating an even, inviting glow across the entire space. This simple upgrade dramatically improved both the function and feel of the basement.

One of the standout features is the custom-built media wall. Anchored by deep green cabinetry and a striking dark vertical tile backdrop, the space creates a natural focal point for gathering. Arched niches with open shelving add both storage and visual interest, softening the design and giving it a custom, high-end feel.

Additional features include a dedicated bathroom with modern finishes, a flexible play or lounge area, and specialty elements like acoustic wood slat wall panels that enhance both style and sound control. Durable flooring selections ensure the space can handle everyday use while still feeling elevated.

The result is a basement that no longer feels like an afterthought. It’s now a fully integrated living space that blends comfort, function, and personality in a way that truly enhances the home.

” As soon as I had a meeting with Bryan Sebring and he drew up an initial proposal, I knew I was done shopping for contractors. When you meet someone that you know you can trust implicitly to assist you with major decisions and send you to good suppliers, and whose staff you can trust in your house for 8 weeks without any homeowner supervision, your decision transcends price… “
