Summary: The Assistant Designer works with the Lead Designer to design unique creative interior spaces that meet our client’s needs and wants, while meeting the project’s investment range parameters. The Assistant Designer will also work with the Digital Marketing Specialist to manage all social media outlets, and assist in marketing activities.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Designer is responsible for completing the following tasks and activities:
- Create and modify interior design concepts and supporting drawings and design documents for kitchen, bath, basements and whole home remodels and additions.
- Schedule and conduct Site Inspections to record existing conditions and gather the needed dimensions, photos, and information required for effective and efficient design.
- Produce “as built” drawings of existing conditions.
- Contact and meet with clients to determine design desires and to present design concepts and detailed designs.
- Assist in the development of project estimates and detailed budgets for projects.
- Use computer programs including, Chief Architect, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Co-Construct to develop and produce design deliverables.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures for the design software database and templates to produce consistent, accurate, and efficient designs and plans.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures for the library of selections.
- Attend required internal and external department and client meetings.
- Maintain a current understanding and knowledge of design principles and applicable building codes in kitchen and bathroom planning, recommended clearances and distances, appliance configurations, etc.
- Actively seek knowledge of new products introduced into the market and trends in the remodeling/construction industry.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the design department’s resource library.
- Develop rapport with and educate clients in residential remodeling so that they may be able to make educated, sound decisions about investments in their home.
- Interview clients, measure & analyze existing space – note existing conditions.
- Develop initial design concepts for design agreement & project feasibility meetings with clients.
- Develop a detailed written scope of work for kitchen, bath, and other residential remodeling projects.
- Design the project & prepare detailed plans for pricing in the design process.
- Prepare & host client presentations.
- Provide selection services to clients for fixtures & finishes when needed.
- Revise & review project with client as necessary.
- Attend pre-construction conferences for proper sales/design to production hand off.
- Participate in Networking Events, Educational Seminars & Home Shows as necessary.
- There will also be some marketing efforts required, such as social media posts, blog writing, project staging, photo uploading, etc.
- Actively maintaining contact with clients during design, production, and post production after completion.
- Perform regular check-ins with the client after completion at predetermined intervals.
- Manage and update social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Create engaging and relevant content for various platforms, ensuring consistency with brand voice and messaging.
- Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools, optimizing posting times for maximum reach and engagement.
- Periodic monthly job-site video recording with cell phone and handheld gimbal (no experience in video needed) before, during and after remodeling projects.
Skills, Education and Experience: The following lists the minimum or desired skills, education and experience required for the role of Assistant Designer:
- 2 or more years of interior design experience in the construction or remodeling industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of interior design computer tools such as Chief Architect software.

- Some years of experience working for a residential construction company is preferred, but not required.
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license and a clean driving record is required.

This position requires a professional, organized individual who is able to think on their feet, capable of problem-solving and dealing with difficult issues. This individual will also be able to lead others and ensure that all individuals working on the Sebring team, whether they are team members, trade partners or vendors, are working to exceed the clients’ expectations.
This position will also require an individual that will be able to teach others and lead by example. Since remodeling is a constantly changing environment, this individual must have patience and thrive in an ever changing environment. The PM must also be able to juggle multiple projects, requests and demands all while communicating in a positive, firm manner, making sure he is receiving the type of timely, quality response from his team members, vendors and trade partners. This will require above average communication and management skills that will allow him to perform and to delegate the work required.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of construction materials and project implementation.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience.
- Must be computer proficient with knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Great communication skills.
- Must be very organized and know how to prioritize task.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
- Must show great initiative leading the production team with enthusiasm.

This position is responsible for getting sold jobs ready for production and supervising construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
