The Story

About This Space

The Westhaven bar was designed not as a secondary space, but as a natural extension of the kitchen’s minimalist language. The same MSI Calacatta Castana quartz carries through the bar surfaces, ensuring a seamless visual transition that connects the two areas through a shared horizontal plane. This continuity allows the bar to feel fully integrated rather than appended, reinforcing the overall architectural clarity of the space.

Rift White Oak elements continue into the bar area, maintaining the vertical grain rhythm established in the kitchen cabinetry. The Tatami stain and dull rubbed varnish preserve the warmth of the wood while keeping the finish understated, allowing texture and tone to carry the design rather than color contrast. This repetition of material creates a sense of cohesion that defines the entire entertaining zone.

At the coffee and bar station, function is elevated through precise detailing. A Brizo Frank Lloyd Wright bar faucet in Brilliance Luxe Gold introduces a refined metallic accent, while the Franke Maris prep sink in Polar White integrates cleanly into the quartz surface. These elements transform the bar into a highly usable workspace without interrupting the minimalist aesthetic.

The backsplash at the bar becomes a focal point through white oak fluted paneling. This architectural texture introduces depth and shadow, offering visual interest while staying aligned with the natural material palette. Rather than relying on bold color or pattern, the design uses repetition and craftsmanship to create a statement that feels quiet yet intentional.

Supporting features further enhance the bar’s functionality. Integrated accessories such as a glass rinser and coordinated sink components ensure the space performs at a high level for entertaining, while maintaining a consistent finish language across every detail. The result is a bar that feels composed, purposeful, and seamlessly connected to the kitchen it serves.
