About This Space
The Westhaven dining room was designed as a continuation of the kitchen rather than a separate destination, carrying forward the same material language to maintain visual and spatial cohesion. Rift White Oak elements, defined by their vertical grain and Tatami stain, establish a consistent rhythm that flows from cabinetry into adjacent living spaces. This continuity allows the dining room to feel grounded in the same architectural framework as the kitchen.
Underfoot, DuChateau Sirocco wood flooring anchors the dining area with a warm, natural tone that reinforces the project’s minimalist intent. The flooring provides a subtle contrast to lighter surfaces while maintaining a cohesive palette, ensuring the dining room feels connected rather than visually segmented.
Material restraint defines the overall atmosphere. Rather than introducing new finishes, the design relies on repetition and refinement. MSI Calacatta Castana quartz appears as a unifying surface element within the broader space, offering a soft veining pattern that adds movement without disrupting the calm, edited aesthetic.
The result is a dining room that prioritizes clarity and warmth. Every material is intentional, every finish aligned with the larger vision. The space supports everyday dining and entertaining with an understated elegance, where simplicity is elevated through precision and consistency rather than ornamentation.

What role does wood flooring play in open-concept design?
Wood flooring acts as a continuous base that visually connects multiple areas within an open-concept layout. Its natural tone adds warmth and helps define the space without the need for additional materials, supporting a seamless transition between kitchen, dining, and living areas.
What is Calacatta Castana quartz used for in adjacent spaces?
