The Story

About This Space

The hall bath in this Westhaven remodel builds on the same foundational design language as the rest of the home while incorporating distinct material selections. The goal was to maintain overall cohesion while allowing for subtle variation, ensuring each bathroom feels intentional rather than duplicated.

Rift White Oak cabinetry elements continue into the space, defined by their vertical grain and Tatami stain. This consistency reinforces the home’s unified aesthetic, creating a visual thread that connects the guest bath to the kitchen and surrounding living areas.

MSI Calacatta Castana quartz remains a key surface material, offering soft veining that introduces movement without overwhelming the minimalist palette. Its durability and low maintenance make it especially well-suited for a secondary bathroom, where both performance and appearance are essential.

The tile selections introduce a distinct layer of texture and contrast, giving this space its own identity within the home. While still aligned with the overall design approach, the tile application provides variation in scale and surface, enhancing both visual interest and functionality.

By combining consistent core materials with unique tile selections, this second guest bath achieves a balance between cohesion and individuality. The result is a clean, modern space that feels thoughtfully designed, supporting daily use while maintaining the refined simplicity seen throughout the Westhaven project.

Common Questions

Questions Homeowners Ask About This Space

How is this second guest bath different from the first?

While both guest baths share core materials like Rift White Oak and quartz, this space uses different selections to create subtle variation. This ensures each bathroom has its own identity while remaining cohesive with the overall design.

Why vary tile selections between guest bathrooms?

Varying tile selections adds visual interest and prevents repetition, especially in homes with multiple bathrooms. It allows each space to feel unique while still aligning with the same material palette.

Is it important to keep materials consistent across bathrooms?

Yes, consistency in key materials, like cabinetry and countertops, helps unify the home. Variation can then be introduced through secondary elements like tile to create distinction without disrupting cohesion.
