The Story

About This Space

This Westhaven guest bath ensures both consistency and intentional variation within the home’s overall design. While maintaining the minimalist foundation established in the kitchen and main living areas, this space introduces tile applications that add depth and function appropriate for a bathroom environment.

Rift White Oak cabinetry elements continue into the guest bath, defined by their vertical grain and Tatami stain. This repetition of wood tone and texture reinforces the home’s cohesive design language, allowing even secondary spaces to feel fully integrated rather than treated as afterthoughts.

MSI Calacatta Castana quartz serves as the primary surface material, bringing subtle veining and a soft visual movement to the space. Its clean, polished appearance aligns with the minimalist aesthetic while offering durability suited for guest use.

Tile selections in the hall bath introduce a layer of contrast and practicality, balancing the warmth of wood and the smoothness of quartz. These materials are applied with restraint, supporting the overall design intent without overwhelming the space. The result is a bathroom that feels texturally rich yet visually calm.

By combining consistent core materials with thoughtfully applied tile finishes, the guest bath achieves a balance between cohesion and functionality. It reflects the same elevated simplicity seen throughout the home while providing a comfortable, polished environment for guests.

This guest bath introduces additional surface variation in tiles while maintaining the same core materials. This creates a slightly more layered look while staying consistent with the home’s overall design.

Why include tile in a minimalist bathroom?

Tile provides necessary durability and water resistance while also adding subtle texture. In a minimalist design, tile is used selectively to enhance function without disrupting the clean aesthetic.
