The Story

About This Space

A powder room is the room in a home that visitors see most clearly and most completely, because it is a small room and they are alone in it. In the Watkins Creek home, Sebring Design Build treated it accordingly: as a room with a strong point of view and the materials to back it up.

The cabinetry is finished in Sherwin Williams Ripe Olive with a Champagne stain on the wood elements: a pairing of a deep, earthy green with warm wood that creates depth and interest in a footprint that cannot rely on scale to make an impression. Metro Recessed MDF panel doors and solid wood slab drawers keep the profile clean while the color carries the room.

Mikado Cemento quartz on the countertop provides the right counterpoint to Ripe Olive cabinetry: a cool, concrete-toned surface that recedes slightly and allows the cabinetry color and the vessel sink to lead. The Native Trails Morro vessel sink in hand-hammered copper introduces a warm, artisan material at the room's most visible point. Its organic surface and warm tone pull the Champagne wood stain and the Ripe Olive green into a coherent tonal conversation.

The Delta Trinsic single handle faucet in Matte Black provides a fixture with clean cylindrical geometry and a finish that reads as modern without competing with the copper sink below it. Kohler Highline toilet completes the room's functional requirements in a profile that stays correctly in the background. The result is a powder room that guests will ask about, which is exactly the right measure of success for a room this size.

Common Questions

Questions Homeowners Ask About This Space

What is Mikado Cemento quartz?

Mikado Cemento is an engineered quartz with the cool, industrial tonality of concrete paired with the consistency and durability of an engineered surface. In a powder room with deep green cabinetry, it provides a countertop that is visually restrained while adding material sophistication. It pairs naturally with Matte Black fixtures and warm wood or painted green cabinetry.

What is the Native Trails Morro vessel sink?

The Native Trails Morro is a hand-hammered copper vessel sink with an organic, artisan quality that suits a powder room designed to make a statement. Its warm copper tone works naturally alongside Ripe Olive cabinetry and Honey Bronze or Matte Black fixture finishes. A vessel sink in a powder room positions the basin as a focal element rather than a functional afterthought.

How do you design a powder room that feels elevated?

Commit to a strong cabinetry color, choose a vessel or statement sink, and select a faucet and hardware in a finish that reinforces the palette rather than neutralizing it. In a powder room, the room's small scale means every material decision is visible from every position: the standard for each selection should be higher than in a larger space, not lower.
