Sebring Design Build transformed this Watkins Creek laundry room in Franklin, Tennessee with Ripe Olive and Champagne cabinetry, Mikado Cemento quartz, a Kohler Purist bridge faucet, a herringbone Daltile Brickworks floor, and an unglazed terracotta Zellige backsplash. A laundry room that carries the same modern-elegant material language as every other space in the home.

About This Space
The Watkins Creek laundry room shares its palette with the powder room: Ripe Olive cabinetry with a Champagne stain on the wood elements. In a whole house remodel, this kind of deliberate palette repetition between service spaces is what prevents those rooms from reading as disconnected from the home's design intent. The laundry room earns its inclusion in the design program because it was designed to the same standard as the rooms it serves.
Mikado Cemento quartz on the countertop provides a cool, concrete-toned surface that grounds the room and coordinates with the Ripe Olive cabinetry above without competing for attention. The Kohler Glen Falls sink provides a generous basin appropriate to laundry room demands, and the Kohler Purist Bridge faucet positions the workspace in the same thoughtful material register as the rest of the room. Top Knobs Brookline hardware in 1-1/8-inch Honey Bronze at the cabinetry carries the warm metallic note that connects the laundry room to the other Honey Bronze spaces throughout the home.
The tile program carries the room's character. Daltile Brickworks 2 x 8 tile in a herringbone pattern on the floor introduces both texture and pattern in a format that reads as handcrafted and contemporary simultaneously. Herringbone in a laundry room communicates design intention at a surface that most rooms treat as purely functional. The unglazed terracotta Zellige backsplash in a stacked and horizontal pattern adds the warmth of a natural, handmade material to the wall behind the workspace. Unglazed terracotta has the earthy, organic quality of material in its natural state: it is a tile that improves with proximity, and in a room where you stand close to the walls every time you use it, that quality matters.

Common Questions
Questions Homeowners Ask About This Space
What makes a laundry room feel elevated rather than utilitarian?
A strong cabinetry color, a natural stone or quartz countertop, a quality sink and faucet, and a tile floor with pattern and texture transform a laundry room from a utility space into a designed room. When the laundry room shares the same finish palette as other spaces in the home, it reads as part of the whole rather than a service space that was left behind.
What is an unglazed terracotta Zellige backsplash?
Unglazed terracotta Zellige is a handmade Moroccan tile in its natural clay state, without a glaze coating. It has a warm, matte, earthy surface with the organic variation of a hand-formed material. In a laundry backsplash application, it introduces natural warmth and artisan texture that pairs beautifully with Ripe Olive cabinetry and a Honey Bronze bridge faucet.
What is the Kohler Purist bridge faucet?
The Kohler Purist Bridge is a wall- or deck-mounted bridge faucet with clean, architectural lines and a lever handle profile that reads as both contemporary and classically minded. In a laundry room with a farm sink and designed cabinetry, it positions the faucet as a fixture worth noticing rather than a utility afterthought. It pairs naturally with Honey Bronze hardware in a room designed around warm natural tones.
