About This Space
The dining room in the Watkins Creek home is the space where the home's material program is most explicitly a design statement: a room built for gathering, for meals that deserve the space they occupy, and for a level of finish quality that communicates that the homeowners take this room seriously.
The cabinetry program pairs Dune with a Cinder stain on the wood elements and Bunker Hill Black with Dull Rubbed Varnish as the accent cabinetry finish. Dune and Cinder provide the warm neutral ground. Bunker Hill Black introduces the high-contrast dark element at the accent positions, creating a dining room with visual depth and a point of view that a monochrome palette could not achieve. Metro Recessed MDF Panel doors with Cliptop Blumotion hinges keep the geometry clean and the operation quiet. Solid wood slab drawers provide the material quality at the surfaces touched most frequently.
Duchateau The Guild Kayla 7.5-inch prefinished hardwood flooring connects the dining room to the loft above it through a shared floor material. The Guild Kayla's wire-brushed surface and wide plank format give the dining room floor the presence and organic warmth that a formal gathering space deserves. Honey Bronze Top Knobs hardware appears at all cabinet and drawer positions: Brookline 1-1/8-inch knobs and Kara 8-13/16-inch pulls provide two hardware profiles in the same warm finish family, creating variety without losing the material consistency that runs through the home's service and social spaces.
The dining room that resulted is one that makes the home feel completely designed rather than partially finished. That distinction is what a whole house remodel achieves when every space is brought forward together.

Common Questions
Questions Homeowners Ask About This Space
What hardware was used in this dining room?
Top Knobs Brookline 1-1/8-inch knobs and Kara 8-13/16-inch pulls, both in Honey Bronze, appear throughout the dining room cabinetry. These two profiles from the same Honey Bronze finish family provide variety in hardware scale and shape while maintaining a consistent warm metallic tone across all cabinet and drawer surfaces.
What is Duchateau The Guild Kayla flooring?
Duchateau The Guild Kayla is a 7.5-inch wide prefinished hardwood floor with a wire-brushed texture and warm natural tonal variation. Its wide plank format and organic surface create a dining room floor that reads as both refined and genuinely material. The same product runs through the loft, connecting the two floors of the home through a shared floor material.
How does the dining room connect to the rest of this whole house remodel?
The dining room shares its Honey Bronze Top Knobs hardware with the laundry room, powder room, and loft, carrying a consistent warm metallic note through all four of the home's non-bath spaces. The Duchateau Guild Kayla flooring connects the dining room to the loft above it. The Dune cabinetry finish connects to the HIS bath on the same floor. Every material decision was made as part of a system.
