About This Space
A basement guest bath that functions well is one of the most practical additions a finished lower level can offer. In this Franklin project, the guest bath was designed with the same material standard as the bar and the main living area: nothing utilitarian for its own sake, nothing decorative for the sake of appearance, everything chosen to work reliably and look considered for years.
Maple Standard Slab cabinetry provides the vanity with a warm, natural wood tone that a painted white cabinet cannot match in a basement context. The standard slab door profile is clean, current, and appropriate to a functional-modern design language: no raised panel, no ornament, just a well-made door on a well-built cabinet. Hanstone Chia quartz on the countertop extends that warm, grounded tone to the horizontal surface. Chia's earthy brown-grey reads as consistent and durable: a countertop that does not demand attention and does not require anxiety.
The Elkay Revere sink provides a basin with clean lines and reliable performance. The Moen Voss widespread bath faucet in Chrome gives the vanity a fixture with minimal geometry and maximum reliability. Moen's cartridge technology means this faucet will work correctly every time for the life of the room. The Moen Waterhill shower system in Chrome completes the enclosure in the same finish as the faucet, maintaining the bathroom's visual consistency at every water point. The guest bath that resulted is one that works as well on the last day as it did on the first.

Common Questions
Questions Homeowners Ask About This Space
What makes a basement guest bath functional rather than just utilitarian?
Clean cabinetry in a warm material like Maple, a quality countertop surface, and fixtures that work reliably without maintenance anxiety make a basement bath genuinely functional. A standard slab door on Maple cabinetry has a natural warmth that painted cabinetry cannot replicate. Hanstone Chia quartz provides a consistent, durable surface that holds its appearance over years of daily use.
What is the Moen Voss collection?
Moen Voss is a widespread bath faucet collection with a clean, minimal profile and reliable Moen cartridge technology. Chrome finish keeps the faucet visually light and easy to maintain. In a basement guest bath, it provides a fixture quality that matches the material standard of the cabinetry and countertop without overspending for a secondary bathroom application.
What is Hanstone Chia quartz?
Hanstone Chia is an engineered quartz with a warm, earthy brown-grey tone that pairs naturally with Maple cabinetry. Its consistent surface and matte-adjacent appearance give a guest bath countertop a grounded, functional quality that resists both visible wear and the trends that make other countertop choices feel dated within a few years.
