Mitered edges give a countertop the visual weight of a stone slab: the edge appears thick and solid, hiding the substrate line that standard edge profiles expose. On a secondary kitchen counter, this choice signals that the space was designed rather than furnished. The partial 3-inch splash shelf integrated into the backsplash edge provides a practical ledge for everyday use without a separate shelf installation.

The glass backsplash in Patina Siren Mirror Wall Tile from the Kelli Fontana collection is the kitchenette's defining surface. Patina Siren is an iridescent glass tile that reflects and refracts light, shifting between warm and cool tones depending on the source and angle. In a basement kitchenette without natural light, a reflective backsplash serves a functional purpose as much as an aesthetic one: it amplifies the LED lighting installed throughout the space and keeps the back wall from receding into the room.
