The Kitchen at Our Seward Hall Refined Cottage Kitchen Remodel

The Seward Hall kitchen began as a closed, oak-heavy room where every surface carried the same warm tone and the island sat as a solid block in the middle of the floor. The remodel keeps the room's cottage bones and rebuilds its material language from the ground up. Marketplace Recessed Panel doors on the perimeter in Stone give the room a bright, quiet envelope, while the island and butler's pantry shift to Mourning Dove, a deeper green-grey that gives the center of the kitchen its own weight without turning it into an accent piece.

Slab top drawers against recessed panel doors below is a small decision that does real work: it keeps the cabinetry from reading as one continuous pattern and gives the eye a horizontal line to rest on. Counters follow the same two-part logic. MSI Calacatta Monaco quartz runs the perimeter and the butler's pantry in a soft white with restrained veining, and MQ-720L Mikado Cemento Leather covers the island in a honed, cement-toned surface that grounds the darker cabinetry beneath it.
