About This Space
The Foxboro Estates primary bath began as a dim, narrow room with a dated reddish vanity, a builder-style counter and little sense of arrival. The storied charm remodel opened it into a bright, layered retreat designed to feel warm, calm and inviting.
At the center of the room, a natural white oak vanity brings warmth and texture against the pale walls. Its quiet, straight grain keeps the look understated, while the clean recessed door and drawer fronts give the double vanity a tailored appearance. Matching storage cabinetry blends into the room, keeping the focus on the natural materials and carefully selected details.
A blue-gray quartzite countertop carries across both the vanity and shower bench, creating a visual connection between the dry and wet areas. Its soft blue tone and darker veining provide a cool contrast to the warmth of the oak without overwhelming the space.
Soft pearl-toned porcelain tile carries throughout the bathroom in several patterns and formats. A herringbone layout adds subtle movement to the floor, while large-format tile on the shower walls creates a clean, vertical rhythm. A coordinating mosaic continues onto the shower floor, and a delicate floral-inspired marble mosaic in the niche adds a small decorative moment without competing with the overall simplicity of the space. Frost-colored grout keeps the various surfaces visually connected.
Warm aged brass hardware adds contrast and a subtle touch of character to the vanity. The remaining fixtures and accessories stay quieter and cooler in tone, allowing the oak, quartzite and tile to remain the primary visual elements. The walk-in shower combines multiple shower functions with a built-in bench and recessed niche for both comfort and storage.
Underfoot, an electric floor-warming system brings an added layer of comfort to the herringbone tile. Together, the natural wood, blue-gray stone, soft porcelain surfaces, warm metal accents and heated floor create a primary bath that feels polished without being overly formal: a comfortable retreat designed for everyday use.
