The quartersawn cut exposes the oak's medullary ray grain: the linear, ray-like figure that gives quartersawn wood its distinctive contemporary profile. The Sage stain is the room's most important decision: an earthy, coastal green that reads as warm in morning light and cool in the evening, connecting the room to the natural world at every hour. Twin framed mirrors with wooden elements above the double sinks reinforce the organic material at the room's primary focal surface.
