The Story

About This Space

The Franklin kitchen arrived as a closed-off, dated room with a layout organized against itself: walls that created barriers where gathering should have been possible, cabinetry that communicated nothing in particular, and a floor plan that made the kitchen feel smaller than it was. The transformation opened the layout and built a new room around a material palette whose restraint is its sophistication.

CWP Classic Square Recessed cabinetry in Soft White on the perimeter provides the kitchen with its dominant surface: clean, warm white cabinetry with the crafted door profile that the transitional-refined aesthetic requires. Classic Square Recessed has the square geometry of a contemporary profile and the recessed panel detail of a traditionally influenced one, which is precisely the combination that earns the name transitional. Tarragon on the accent cabinetry positions, the island, a section of base cabinets, or the hood surround, wherever the design placed it, introduces the kitchen's one color decision in a warm, muted sage green that reads as the result of certainty rather than experiment. Tarragon is the color that makes the room identifiably designed: specific enough to remember, restrained enough to be permanent.

Cambria Ironsbridge Polished quartz on the countertops provides the horizontal surfaces in a warm, earthy quartz with the reflective quality of a polished finish. Where the Matte version of Ironsbridge reads as tactile and grounded, the Polished finish reads as luminous and formal: a countertop that reflects the room's light and connects to the Polished Nickel fixture program above it. The Delta Cassidy faucet in Polished Nickel is the kitchen's most refined fixture choice: a curved, traditional-transitional profile in a warm metallic that sits precisely between the formality of Chrome and the warmth of Brass. The Solera Composite White sink provides the kitchen's primary basin in a clean white finish that connects naturally to the Soft White cabinetry above it.

Top Knobs Contour pulls in Ash Gray provide the kitchen's hardware at every door and drawer in a finish that bridges the Soft White cabinetry and the Tarragon accent positions: a cool grey metallic that reads as restrained and considered in a room built on understatement. Sonoma Tile Stellar Bossy Gray on the backsplash lines the kitchen walls in a grey tile that completes the room's neutral and muted material palette, providing the vertical surface with a tone that belongs completely to the grey and white and sage color story without introducing a new voice.

Common Questions

Questions Homeowners Ask About This Space

What is Tarragon cabinetry color?

Tarragon is a CWP paint finish in a warm, muted sage green, the color of the herb it is named for: earthy, organic, and precisely the kind of green that reads as timeless rather than trendy. In a kitchen with Soft White perimeter cabinetry, Tarragon on the island or accent positions introduces the room's one color decision in a tone that sits naturally alongside Polished Nickel fixtures and grey backsplash without competing with either. It is the color choice that makes this kitchen identifiably designed without being identifiably dated.

What is Cambria Ironsbridge Polished quartz?

Cambria Ironsbridge in a Polished finish has the same warm, earthy brown and grey movement on a creamy white ground as the Matte version, but the polished surface reflects light and reads as brighter and more formal. In a transitional-refined kitchen with Soft White cabinetry and Polished Nickel fixtures, the polished finish connects the countertop to the room's metallic program and provides a horizontal surface that reads as luminous and considered.

What is the Delta Cassidy faucet?

Delta Cassidy is a kitchen faucet collection with a graceful, curved profile and traditional-transitional handle design. In Polished Nickel, it provides a warm, bright metallic fixture that reads as genuinely refined: not the cool silver of Chrome nor the warmth of Brass, but Polished Nickel's particular quality of brightness without harshness. The Cassidy's profile connects the kitchen to a traditional design lineage without requiring the rest of the room to follow it there.
