The Primary Bath at Our Iridescent Pearl Tile Remodel

The primary bath that Sebring Design Build inherited had aged into something that no longer served the homeowners well. Heavy cabinetry that closed the room in. A shower too small for daily comfort. The work began with a clear intention: clean, modern and with at least one material choice specific enough to make the room genuinely memorable.

Pearl-finish recessed cabinetry sets the room's foundation. The recessed door profile keeps the geometry disciplined. Pearl as a finish occupies the space between white and warm gray without committing firmly to either, a quality that allows the room to feel simultaneously contemporary and inviting. The cabinetry does its work quietly, which is exactly what cabinetry in a modern bath should do.

Hanstone Tranquility quartz on the countertop brings a surface with the soft, cool depth of natural stone to a material that performs reliably in daily use. The shower curb in MSI Arctic White quartz provides a clean, consistent threshold between the floor and the enclosure. Both surfaces read as considered without drawing attention to themselves, freeing the tile program to carry the room's character.

The shower walls are clad in Imperial Frame Bianco 4 x 12 subway tile with Warm Grey grout, a combination that structures the enclosure without hardening it. The Milestone Epic Apuano hex mosaic on the shower floor introduces organic texture and tonal movement underfoot, a surface that rewards the close proximity inherent to stepping into a shower. The Lunada Bay Sonare Aura Pearl 3 x 9 glass tile in the shower accent band and niche is where the modern-unique character becomes unmistakable. Lunada Bay's handcrafted glass shifts between silver, cream and pearl depending on the light, and no two tiles are exactly the same. In a room otherwise built on discipline and restraint, this material provides the one moment of genuine optical poetry that makes the room worth remembering.

Moen Wynford fixtures in Polished Nickel appear at the tub fill, the sink and the shower via the Moentrol system. Polished Nickel was selected deliberately over chrome: it carries more warmth and visual depth while remaining firmly in the cool register that modern design requires. Top Knobs Devenport hardware in the same finish completes the cabinetry. The Kohler Archer toilet and Caxton undermount sink resolve the room's functional requirements in forms clean enough not to compete with the tile work surrounding them.
