The Story
About This Project
The homeowners in Brentwood came to Sebring Design Build with a primary bath that felt heavier and more dated than the home around it. The brief was modern-unique: a clean, contemporary foundation with material selections specific enough to make the room feel genuinely considered rather than generically updated. Streamlined cabinetry, a distinctive tile program, a soaking tub as a focal point, and a consistent Polished Nickel fixture finish were the anchors of the design.

A Home Made New
The Brentwood primary bath came to Sebring Design Build carrying the weight of a design that had aged past its usefulness. Heavy cabinetry. A cramped shower. Fixtures that communicated nothing in particular. The brief was to create something calmer, cleaner, and meaningfully different from the room it replaced.
The modern-unique direction in this bath is not a surface-level choice. It lives in the specificity of the material selections: Hanstone Tranquility quartz on the countertops, a surface with the quiet depth of natural stone and the performance consistency an active bathroom demands. Pearl-finish recessed cabinetry keeps the room open and light at the primary visual plane. The MTI Rectangle soaking tub introduces a clean architectural shape as the room's focal element, a form that reads as contemporary without requiring anything around it to be severe.
The tile program is where the unique character announces itself. Imperial Frame Bianco 4 x 12 subway tile covers the shower walls in a clean, structured pattern with a Warm Grey grout that adds depth without contrast. The shower floor shifts to Milestone Epic Apuano hex mosaic, a surface with the kind of texture and tonal movement that makes a shower floor worth noticing. The shower accent and niche are lined in Lunada Bay Sonare Aura Pearl 3 x 9 glass tile, an iridescent material that shifts between silver, cream, and pearl depending on how the light falls. It is not a material you see in every bathroom, and that is precisely the point. In a room otherwise built on restraint, one material with genuine optical presence changes how the whole room feels.
Moen Wynford fixtures throughout in Polished Nickel carry the light quality of the Aura Pearl tile into the faucet and tub fill positions. The Moen Moentrol shower system in Polished Nickel completes the enclosure. Kohler Archer toilet and Caxton sink, both architecturally clean in their profiles, resolve the room's functional components without competing for attention. Top Knobs Devenport hardware in Polished Nickel at the cabinetry completes the room at the surfaces touched most often.
The bath that replaced the original is one that a homeowner looks forward to spending time in. That, at the end of the process, is the correct measure of a remodel done well.
