The Story
About This Project
This Chenoweth kitchen came to Sebring Design Build with a clear brief: deliver heritage character without the compromises heritage kitchens usually carry. The homeowners wanted the warmth of a traditional kitchen, raised-panel cabinetry, an arched niche, a substantial range hood, without the dated feel that often comes with it.
Achieving that meant working through real constraints. A custom brass range hood had to be fabricated and finished to match hardware and fixtures throughout the room, unlacquered brass ages over time by design, and the team accounted for that living finish in every specification. Glass-front cabinetry and an arched bar niche required custom millwork rather than stock cabinet runs, and the checkerboard floor pattern needed precise layout planning before installation to keep the pattern centered and balanced.
Sebring Design Build's in-house design and construction team carried this brief from first consultation through a fixed-price proposal, coordinating custom millwork and specialty tile installation as one connected scope.
Project Details
A Home Made New
The Chenoweth kitchen in Brentwood came to Sebring Design Build with a clear aspiration: heritage character without the compromises heritage kitchens usually carry. The result honors that brief in every material decision, from the cabinetry profile down to the floor underfoot.
CWP Classic Square Raised cabinetry in a Solid Wood Panel White Oak Coffee finish sets the room's tone immediately. The raised panel profile is the detail that separates a heritage kitchen from a merely traditional one, and the Coffee stain keeps the White Oak grain visible and warm rather than obscuring it. Glass-front cabinetry at the display positions and an arched bar niche extend that heritage language into the room's architecture, giving the kitchen two genuine focal points beyond the range.
MSI Calcutta Versailles quartz in a 3CM polished profile provides the countertop surface with the substantial presence a heritage kitchen calls for, its veining reading as classic rather than trendy. The custom brass range hood is the room's centerpiece, finished to match the Unlacquered Brass hardware that runs through the cabinetry and the Davoli French Gold PVD pull-down faucet at the sink. Unlacquered brass ages by design, a material choice that fits a heritage kitchen better than almost any other finish available.
T4-D Nature White porcelain in an 8-inch format tiles the backsplash in a clean, quiet surface that lets the cabinetry and hood carry the room's character. Leona Checkerboard Matte Porcelain in Calacatta and Marfil at 24x24 grounds the floor in a pattern that is unmistakably heritage without reading as costume. The kitchen that resulted is warm, considered, and exactly as timeless as the brief asked it to be.

Common Questions
Questions Homeowners Ask About This Project
What made this Chenoweth kitchen a heritage-style remodel?
The homeowners wanted the warmth of a traditional kitchen, raised-panel cabinetry, an arched niche, and a substantial range hood, without the dated feel that often comes with heritage design. CWP Classic Square Raised cabinetry in White Oak Coffee delivers that warmth, while a custom brass range hood and arched bar niche required dedicated millwork rather than a stock cabinet run.
Why does unlacquered brass require special planning in a kitchen remodel?
Unlacquered brass ages and develops a natural patina over time by design, so every fixture and hardware specification in this kitchen was chosen with that living finish in mind from the start. The custom brass range hood was fabricated and finished to match hardware and fixtures throughout the room as one coordinated program.
