The Story

About This Project

The homeowners in Brentwood came to Sebring Design Build wanting a primary bath that was genuinely modern without feeling cold or impersonal. The brief was modern-crisp: clean geometry, a white and neutral palette at the surfaces, and dark wood cabinetry to provide warmth and depth. Large-format tile, Polished Chrome fixtures, and a vanity wall in stone-look porcelain were the anchors of the design direction.

A Home Made New

The Brentwood primary bath that came to Sebring Design Build had complexity where it did not need it and restraint where warmth was called for. The modern-crisp direction resolved both problems simultaneously: clean geometry and a monochrome white palette at the walls and countertops, grounded by dark wood cabinetry that prevents the room from reading as cold or clinical.

Wellborn Premier cabinetry in the Barcelona Oak door style and Drift stain sets the room's defining tension. Barcelona Oak has a linear grain and a profile that reads as contemporary without abandoning the warmth that wood brings to a bath. Drift is a stain that pulls the oak toward a cool, grey-brown tone, keeping the cabinetry within the modern-crisp palette without removing its natural character. Against white quartz and white tile, this cabinetry provides the depth and warmth that give the room its quality.

Orion Absolute White quartz in a Polished finish on the countertop delivers exactly what its name promises: a clean, bright white surface with the reflectivity that opens a vanity wall. The Atlas Concorde Marvel Calacatta Extra 24 x 24 honed porcelain behind the vanity brings large-format stone-look tile to the most-viewed surface in the room, its soft veining providing movement without introducing a competing visual element.

Crossville Buenos Aires Mood Palermo 12 x 24 unpolished porcelain on the floor grounds the room in a neutral tone that recedes correctly, allowing the cabinetry and wall tile to carry the room's visual work. The shower walls in the Elegant collection, Brown, 18 x 36-inch porcelain, introduce a warm, wood-tone surface at large scale that anchors the enclosure. The 1 x 1 mosaic shower floor in the same collection provides texture underfoot while maintaining material continuity within the shower itself.

Graff Sento in Polished Chrome at the vanity and Hansgrohe Raindance E in Polished Chrome at the shower complete the fixture program. Polished Chrome in a modern-crisp bath is the correct finish: it reflects light cleanly, it carries no warmth of its own, and it lets the cabinetry and tile carry the room's temperature rather than the metal. The result is a bath where every element earns its position, and nothing in the room requires an apology.
